THEMES AND CURRENT ACTIVITIES
ReAct's current themes and areas of work can be summed up as below. For more detailed decriptions, please click on respective theme in the menu to the left.
Promoting Innovation
ReAct works to influence the process of innovation of health products to manage antibiotic resistance. This work also includes shepherding the development of new funding mechanisms as well as re-engineering the R&D pipeline in order to create an enabling environment for novel, reliable, and affordable drugs, diagnostics and vaccines.
Increasing the Visibility of Antibiotic Resistance
One of ReAct's central missions is to place and maintain antibiotic resistance on the global health agenda, aiming to make stakeholders at all levels aware of the urgency of the situation.
Evidence Generation
ReAct seeks to fill the vital knowledge-gaps and to uncover the actual costs of ABR. We work in different ways with a variety of partners to increase the generation of essential data on the use of antibiotics as well as on the emergence and spread of resistant bacteria.
Promoting Rational Use of Antibiotics
ReAct works to promote rational use of antibiotics in the broad sense, including training activities aimed at health professionals, advocacy and work with other organizations to develop and implement guidelines and best practices. Moreover, we advocate for better access to affordable and effective antibiotics in areas with limited resources.
Rapid Response
A key feature of ReAct's work has been the high adaptability and capacity to quickly respond to opportunities and trends as they arise. This allows the network to explore both planned new activities and capture unforeseen possibilities.
