Daniel Waruingi works as a Capacity Development & Youth Engagement Manager for ReAct Africa. He is a passionate public and global health professional committed to strengthening health systems and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) mitigation in the African continent. Over the years, he has spearheaded innovative trailblazing projects on community, and youth engagement in AMR in Africa that have catalyzed growing efforts and immensely contributed to a rising AMR movement within Africa.

He has served in multiple advisory positions and consulted with multiple organizations on Antimicrobial Stewardship, development of resource materials and AMR courses, community, and youth engagement, AMR awareness strategies, AMR framing and communication, and other public health interventions. As a diligent and inspiring figure in the AMR landscape, he has been invited to speak in over 60 webinars, workshops, innovative forums, and scientific conferences.

Daniel studied Bachelor of Pharmacy at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya and is currently a Dalai Lama Fellow at the University of Virginia. He co-founded Students Against Superbugs Africa and before that, spearheaded sexual and reproductive health rights, and mental health projects at Ryculture Health and Social Innovation. As a result of his highly impactful work, Daniel is a recipient of multiple awards from international and local platforms, and has been awarded several grants to implement community engagement, and youth-led AMR projects.
