Otridah Kapona consults for ReAct Africa as Projects Officer. She is responsible for supporting activities under the ReAct Africa portfolio, providing advice and leadership on Antimicrobial Stewardship components of the AMR Project, anchoring implementation of the AMS program in Zambia and other countries as well as leading literature research activities and writing of scientific papers.
Otridah Kapona is a Public Health Laboratory Scientist specialized in Communicable Diseases. She works with the Zambia National Public Health Institute, with a focus on AMR Surveillance, Public Health Laboratory Systems Strengthening, and laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases. She currently serves as Zambia’s AMR National Focal Point and Coordinator and has seen the successful formulation, completion and launch of Zambia’s first 10 year Multisectoral National Action Plan on AMR and associated stewardship policy documents and is currently spearheading its implementation. She holds an MSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Zambia.
