Grids
Grid images are always cropped to 600 x 210 px size. If you want to control the cut, do it manually in photoshop or similar and upload a 600×210 px file.

For articles, define the focus keyword or keyphrase for the article. Enter that in the Yoast “Focus Keyword” field. Check out the Yoast analysis and get red dots to become orange or green where it is reasonable.
Most pages (incl section overview pages) deserve their own meta description.

Write a description that is 130-150 characters long. Make it a sales pitch for the article – the description should make google searchers want to click on the link.
