Faith and Health Unite: East Mandate Partners with ReAct to address Antimicrobial Resistance
East Mandate Ministry and ReAct Africa Network (RAN) have joined forces in a unique collaboration that integrates public health education with biblical values. Aligned with East Mandate’s mission to promote Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding, the partnership is focused on raising awareness and building capacity around antimicrobial resistance (AMR) among young people and youth. Through this initiative, participants are being equipped as health ambassadors, empowered to share life-saving messages in their communities and during East Mandate’s international gatherings
What sets this engagement apart is ReAct Africa’s practical focus on real-world community dynamics.
A flexible, age-specific approach has been designed to tailor conversations for children under 15, youth aged 15–24, and young adults up to 35. Participants come from a variety of backgrounds ranging from low, middle, to high-density communities and include students from primary, secondary, and especially tertiary institutions, many of whom are influential leaders in their schools.
Instead of conducting a traditional Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) study, ReAct Africa is facilitating guided qualitative conversations to uncover deeper insights and spark critical reflection.
This collaboration also serves as a test platform for engaging communities in fluid or less-defined settings. ReAct is documenting the entire process to develop practical models and best practices for community engagement on AMR.
Together, East Mandate and ReAct are nurturing a new generation of informed, responsible, and faith-driven leaders committed to protecting health and promoting wise stewardship.
