To mark ReAct 20 years celebrations and World AMR Awareness Week, ReAct Asia Pacific proudly launches and introduces the Asia Pacific Youth AMR Task Force. This regional initiative brings together diverse youth-led and youth-serving organizations committed to strengthening action on AMR through a One Health lens.

Why youth engagement on AMR matters
The Asia-Pacific faces a significant and growing AMR burden that demands urgent, locally grounded solutions. Young people are essential to this effort: they mobilize communities, influence future policy directions, and bring fresh, context-sensitive approaches to health challenges.
ReAct convenes the Asia-Pacific Youth AMR Task Force to:
- strengthen youth leadership
- foster cross-sectoral collaboration and
- co-develop impactful advocacy and capacity-building initiatives
that make AMR action more inclusive, practical, and sustainable across the region.
About the Asia-Pacific Youth AMR Task Force
The Task Force is a two-year, youth-driven advisory and action-oriented group supporting:
- AMR advocacy
- awareness and
- capacity building
across the Asia-Pacific. Members will collaborate on regional campaigns, participate in policy-relevant dialogues, contribute to One Health initiatives and champion youth engagement across their networks.

Release of the Asia-Pacific Youth AMR Task Force is part of celebrating ReAct 20 years
The story of ReAct began 20 years ago with a small group of passionate global health advocates, several of whom are still part of the network today. Driven by the urgency of antibiotic resistance, ReAct has grown into a global movement with offices across four continents, influencing policy, empowering communities, and shaping governance.
Despite progress, global efforts remain insufficient, and urgent action is needed. ReAct remains committed to driving stronger responses to safeguard effective antibiotics for all.
ReAct’s 20-year journey has transformed AMR governance, strengthened health systems, and mobilized communities worldwide. As we look to the future, we invite partners and funders to join us in scaling impact, driving innovation, and securing sustainable solutions — for a world free from untreatable infections.
