ReAct Africa launches Youth Innovation Hub to address AMR

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is one of the most pressing global health challenges of our time, requiring innovative and collaborative efforts to combat its spread. Recognizing the crucial role of young people in addressing this issue, ReAct Africa has launched the Physical Youth Innovation Hub—a dedicated space designed to empower youth with the resources, knowledge, and support needed to develop impactful solutions.

A new milestone for youth-led innovation

On January 31, 2025, ReAct Africa took a significant step in empowering young leaders by inaugurating its Physical Youth Innovation Hub at the regional office in Ibex Hill, Lusaka, Zambia. The launch event brought together key stakeholders, including university representatives, local organizations, and youth leaders, all united by a common goal — enhancing youth-driven solutions in the fight against Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

The event began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Raphael Chanda, Acting Executive Director of ReAct Africa, who emphasized the critical role of young people in addressing AMR. His speech set an inspiring tone, reinforcing the importance of youth engagement and innovation in shaping health solutions.

A representative from the Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI) commended ReAct Africa for its dedication to youth-driven initiatives and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting such innovative efforts. This collaboration highlights a shared vision—empowering young minds to tackle global health challenges effectively.
